World Records Application Page

This webpage provides documentation for our world record applications.

On the summit of our final mountain, Pico Turquino, the highpoint of Cuba

As noted, we were the first people to climb the highest mountain in all 23 North American countries, and are preparing to submit applications for our record. Specifically, we will apply for the record “Fastest time to climb the highest points in all North American countries.” We climbed our first North American country high point (Denali/Mt. McKinley in Alaska, USA) on May 26, 2010, and climbed our 23rd and final peak (Pico Turquino in Cuba) on June 11, 2015, for an elapsed time of 1,843 days.

What is North America? We recognize the conventional definition of the continent of North America, which consists of the landmass north of the Panama/Colombia border and the islands of the Caribbean.
What is a country? In keeping with the accepted international convention, “country” is defined as a UN Member State, of which there are 193 in the world as of April 2018.
North American Countries: Therefore, there are 23 countries in North America: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America.
