Colockum Wildlife Area

Colockum Wildlife Area

At camp

April 2-3, 2022

Katie, Lily and I went to the colockum wildlife area in eastern washington to find some fun rough roads to test out the new Tundra. This is a good area to visit in April after the snow has melted but before the area is prone to fires. Saturday we drove a bit east of Ellensburg and took a very rough road up to peak 3873 and did a short hike to C-man peak. I could just barely get up the road in gear 4L with some slipping, so it was a good test of the truck’s capabilities. We then drove to near Colockum Pass, went on a rough snowy side road, and found a good campsite on Caribou Road. Campfires are allowed until April 15, so we had a nice fire and camped out. Sunday we hiked peak 4400 before driving back.
