We drove to a bridge over the Yakima river near Thorpe on Saturday morning and stashed our bikes in the woods, then drove back to Cle Elum. We put in near the baseball field and had a fun 4-hour paddle down. There was one logjam we had to do a bit of portaging around but otherwise it was an easy float. Back at the bikes we packed the boats back up into my pack, strapped the pack awkwardly to my bike, and biked back to Cle Elum along the iron horse bike trail.
